WHAT MAKES THE LOVEY YOU™ BABY BUMPER DESIGN SPECIAL?

Babies spend a lot of time laying down during the first year of their life, so why not lay them in the best place possible? Away from toxic chemicals, off-gassing, chemical flame retardants, synthetic fibres or polyester filling? Unfortunately, the reality of todays products fall into a lot of sneaky marketing, unsupported health claims and a tremendous amount of gray area. What is being marketed as green and all-natural is in truth, hardly so.

The Lovey You™ Baby Bumper is our most innovative baby hugging-calming-soothing-lounging certified-organic, nontoxic inside and out, baby bumper. Consciously designed for safety that you and your little one can enjoy immediately:

1. There is no padding behind babies head to avoid pushing chin to chest (especially as baby grows) as it can lead to positional asphyxiation.

2. There is no padding at the feet to allow baby the freedom to grow comfortably without becoming constrained or limited in movement – as so happens when baby quickly outgrows the conventional loungers that have padding all around.

3. The padded bumper sides curve away from babies face to allow for maximum air circulation no matter which way baby turns their face.

4. The padded bumper sides curve in at the middle to provide gentle pressure at the torso. The pressure is designed to help baby feel supported which may result in less startling and movement.

5. There is no padding or filling in the centre so that the bumper can inherit the firmness of the surface that it is placed upon.

6. No head and foot padding promotes proper neck, hip, and spine alignment – especially after birth.

What age is the Lovey You™ Baby Bumper suitable for?

It is our hope that the Lovey You™ Baby Bumper will become your child’s lovey and grow with them through the years. It is suitable from newborn all the way to toddlerhood. As your little one reaches exciting milestones, you can fold the bumper in half to create a perfect perch for tummy time, sitting support, arm support for nursing, body pillow and anything else you can think of – our bumper is incredibly versatile.

What is the Lovey You™ Baby Bumper made of?

The Lovey You™ Baby Bumper is made from 100% sustainable certified organic cotton and the bumper cover is made from a certified bamboo and cotton blend. Our bumper and cover are free from toxic chemicals, off-gassing, chemical flame retardants, synthetic fibres or polyester filling. We did the leg work so you wouldn’t have to.

The side bumpers are filled with 100% organic Canadian-grown buckwheat hulls. They are an eco-conscious, high-performance filling, offering resilience, durability, and temperature control that far exceeds synthetic, blended, or polyester-based fillings. The buckwheat hull bumpers are perfect for keeping your little one from rolling out and you from rolling in. They are breathable and allow air to flow freely. Buckwheat hulls also facilitate grounding with sound and EMF blocking attributes. Hulls are naturally insect and mite repellant.

Where can I use the Lovey You™ Baby Bumper?

We recommend using on a firm, flat surface away from any edges or falls. While the bumper sides are naturally weighted from the buckwheat hulls, supervised use is an absolute must (as with any baby product!), the bumper will not shift or be confining in any way. How do I wash the Lovey You™ Baby Bumper?

If possible, avoid washing the Lovey You™ Baby Bumper shell and take care to not get it wet. The goal is to keep the buckwheat hulls dry. We recommend our bumper covers to protect the shell from life’s little messes. We highly recommend spot cleaning the bumper shell as a first option if anything should leak through the cover, then laying it in the sun to re-energize and disinfect.

If you must wash the bumper shell, the easiest method is to empty the buckwheat hulls into a pillow case. Wash the shell on gentle or hand wash cycle with a small amount of your preferred baby detergent. Hang to dry, iron, and refill with hulls using a large funnel. We have a video tutorial coming soon but we promise the whole process is very easy!

Our bumper covers are the softest buttery-smooth fabric to provide an extra layer of protection. The bumper cover can be washed inside out as often as needed on gentle cycle and dry on cool setting. For detailed care, please see Care and Maintenance.

Safety Use

While we feel our design boasts exceptional safety features, we recommend that babies are never left unattended in the Lovey You™ Baby Bumper. Parents, please use critical thinking and do your own independent research on human behaviour regarding sleep and co-sleeping practices. Packaging

We use zero Waste packaging practices. No plastic bags inside of plastic bags inside of cardboard with unnecessary tags and excessive printed materials. You will receive your product with only the most necessary product info tags and can conveniently access our website for any information you may need. Your Lovey You™ Baby Bumper will arrive folded ergonomically for shipping. Our mailer is recycled cardboard that is produced sustainably in Canada and 100% compostable.
